Julie strives to create a warm and accepting environment where her clients feel understood and supported through their distress. She is passionate about helping her clients to connect with what matters most to them, identify meaningful goals and any barriers to achieving them, and develop new skills and knowledge that empowers them to create lasting changes in their lives. Julie works primarily with adults and is available over telehealth.

Whilst Julie has trained in many therapy approaches, she is at heart aligned with mindfulness and acceptance-based approaches including acceptance and commitment therapy and compassion-focused therapy. She is also passionate about the science of positive psychology which focuses on factors that contribute to wellbeing, and incorporates this branch of psychology in her client work.

Julie is experienced in supporting clients with a wide range of presenting concerns and her areas of particular interest lie in anxiety, stress management, self-care, perfectionism, depression, burnout, sleep issues, adjustment to life changes, chronic pain, and personal wellbeing and growth. She has worked in a range of public and private mental health settings, as well as in the tertiary education sector, lecturing in clinical psychology. She is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and a former committee member for the APS Positive Psychology interest group.
