Areas of Interest

Tania is a Clinical Psychologist who also holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights Law. With over 15 years’ clinical experience, she has worked extensively in Australia and overseas across a range of settings, including hospitals and health clinics, humanitarian contexts and migrant services, as well as places of detention, refugee camps, and community-based settings.

She is passionate about supporting those who support others, recognising both the professional and personal impacts, positive and challenging, of working in healthcare.

Tania draws on a range of integrated, evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), Schema Therapy and Mindfulness. She places strong emphasis on ensuring clients are clear about what they are working towards and how therapy will support them to get there, while developing practical strategies and deeper insights to create meaningful and lasting change.

Tania works with a broad range of presentations and has particular experience in working with trauma (both recent and historical), adjustment disorder and anxiety. She also supports individuals navigating complex life circumstances, including health conditions, workplace stress, family challenges and difficulties with life balance. In addition, Tania works extensively with people who have experienced marginalisation and intersectionality, including those from rural and remote backgrounds, diverse cultural communities, individuals impacted by gender-based discrimination, and members of the LGBTIQA+ community.

Tania values the importance of bringing the lighter side of life and human connection into therapy and thoughtfully incorporates humour into her sessions to help balance the heavier aspects of therapeutic work.

Tania has authored several academic publications, including research focused on the impacts of work on health professionals, as well as torture and war-related trauma. She currently sits on the Editorial Board for Torture Journal.
